NH-ISAC Testifies on Cybersecurity in the Health Care Sector

On 4/4/17 NH-ISAC president Denise Anderson and board members Terry Rice and Michael McNeil gave testimony to the United States House of Representatives Committee on Energy & Commerce subcommittee on Oversight & Investigations regarding “Cybersecurity in the Health Care Sector: Strengthening Public-Private Partnerships.” They each gave their statement and then answered questions posed by the committee members.

Anderson stated that there are a number of great initiatives and efforts underway within the sector but there is still a lot more that can be done. Congress can help meet this challenge by focusing on four key areas:

  1. Education, Recognition & Facilitation of the Importance of Information Sharing
  2. Protect Information Sharing
  3. Eliminate the Confusion Between the Terms ISAC & ISAO
  4. Establish Cybersecurity Professionals as SSA Liaisons
